The 1st International Wine & Heart Health Summit

February 2001,
Napa Valley, California

Over 300 physicians from around the world attended the 1st International Wine & Heart Health Summit held at the Silverado Country Club & Resort in Napa, California. The Summit was co-sponsored by Desert Heart Foundation and Robert Mondavi Family of Wine.

The two-day symposium brought together an impressive faculty of physicians, scientists and epidemiologists to discuss the benefits of the daily consumption of wine on improved cardiovascular health.

Social venues included exceptional dinners at Robert Mondavi Winery and V. Sattui. The final event was a fundraiser for the Wine & Heart Health Research Initiative called The Affair of the Heart.

Anne Colgin, California vintner and Sotheby's auctioneer, kept the bidding lively and entertaining.

Nearly 150 guests gathered in the Vineyard Room at Robert Mondavi Winery to bid on important lots of wine with the proceeds going to the Wine & Heart Health Research Initiative.

Robert and Margrit Mondavi were hosts for the evening along with Tedd M. Goldfinger DO, FACC, FCCP, President of Desert Heart Foundation and Director of the Wine & Heart Health Research Initiative.
